CSP Math Students Honored By Governor O’Malley



Honorable Martin O’Malley invited CSP MathCounts Champion students to his office and recognized them on their most recent statewide mathematics accomplishment.


All CSP Team A students including Lukash Onshkevych who will represent the State of Maryland in the nationals, Tristan Carmean who represented the United States of America in the global math competition, Jack Andraka, and Ruslan Onshkevych were introduced to Governor during yesterday’s visit.


After receiving brief information about CSP’s most recent accomplishments, Governor congratulated all Team A members along with Coach Ferhat Avsar, Governing Board Vice President Spear Lancaster, Lukash and Ruslan’s mother Mrs. Lassowsky, and Principal Fatih Kandil. Governor O’Malley also informed CSP officials how impressed he was with CSP’s success stories.


CSP officials thanked the Governor for this invaluable recognition and support for Chesapeake Science Point students and kindly invited him to CSP. At the end of the visit commemorative pictures of the event featuring Governor O’Malley and CSP members were taken.
