CSP Athletics

To CSP Community,

CSP boys and girls basketball teams continue their success on and off the court.  I have been very proud of the way our teams have prepared themselves off the court and the determination and courage they have shown on the court.  Our students have shown their school pride by showing up to root on our teams.  This has been a very rewarding and positive experience for everyone.  I have had numerous conversations with parents from other schools that have come to the games.  They are all very impressed with our progress and have asked me, “How do I get my child into this school.” What a compliment!

The basketball season only has about a month left.  The girls have three games left and the boys have five games remaining.  Please come out and root on your CSP Tigers as they look to continue their first season ever.

Please see the CSP website for game information.

TRACK and FIELD:

We will be moving forward with our second Track and Field season this spring.  All spring sports start on March 1st.  Anyone interested in joining the Track team, please see Mr. Stedman.  We will be having another team meeting after exams.  So far, we have over 50 students signed up!!  Should be a great season!

I wanted to send out a special THANK YOU to all of our athletic volunteers.  We have had so many help with basketball concessions and taking tickets.  Our volunteer and concession leader, Ruth Lurz, has done an amazing job of organizing this group.  Thank you!  I could not do this without you guys!

Sincerely,

Attention All Seniors!!!

Cap & Gown Order Information will be available at the upcoming Senior Information Night being held on Tuesday, February 4th at 6:00 pm.

Attendance Matters!

Dear Parents and guardians,

It has been noted that there are arising attendance concerns. As stated in the Parent Handbook, page 14, increased attendance problems may result in the denial of credit for the semester. "The Lawful Causes of Absence" are also listed on the same page.

Below are some highlights of AACPS Attendance Policy:

Whenever your child is absent, you must provide a note of explanation to the school with-in three days of your child's return to school. Absences due to illness in excess of five consecutive days require a physician's note.

A student who misses six or more days of school in a semester is considered "excessively absent". At the secondary level, excessive absences may result in the denial of credit for the semester.
