CSP was awarded Tuesday, October 7 by the Anne Arundel County Food Bank for placing sixth in the county for collecting over 27,000 pounds of food in last year’s Harvest for the Hungry Food Drive Campaign. CSP was represented at the ceremony, held in Crownsville, by CSP Seniors Ishmam Mirza, Taylor Schwartz, Naudia Porter, and Arman Setser, all of whom were part of the Student Action Committee that organized last year’s campaign. AAC Food Bank president Bruce Michalec presented the awards along with Superintendent of AACPS George Arlotto. “I think it’s great that we have such an enthusiastic school that can come together and make great things happen” said Ishmam Mirza, 16.
This year we have set a goal of 54,000 pounds of food to be collected by the end of October. All non-perishable items are accepted, along with monetary donations ($1 = 8 pounds). The whole CSP community is encouraged to contribute, and with your help and support, this year will be a greater and even more successful year than ever before. Lets go TIGERS!!
